about 2 yrs ago we ran out of propane. We had never used our fireplace since then. Now we want to use it, and are having trouble lighting the pilot light. Do we need to call someone to get it lit due to the propane going out so long ago? I followed the directions and watched your tutorial on lighting the pilot. Any advice?

Many times, when a fireplace has been turned off for a long period of time, air can buildup in the gas line making it difficult to light the pilot. You could keep trying to light it, and use a lighter or match right to the pilot hood (just to be sure there isn’t a problem with your sparker). Eventually if gas is present, it will light. If you do not feel comfortable, most companies will charge a minimal charge to light your pilot light.

Thank you. Had not used the fireplace in 5 years. It did not light immediately, but did after a minute of holding the pilot button, as you recommended.
